"Finally, a dictation app that doesn't make my fans spin like a jet engine. It actually works inside my Citrix session where Wispr Flow failed."
u/DevOps_Dave via Reddit

Works anywhere text goes: VS Code, terminals, browsers, Outlook, Slack…

Default trigger

Ctrl + Windows (hold to talk)

  • Clipboard paste on host; types directly into Remote Desktop
  • Auto‑formats code, math, and emails
  • Skips silence and respects corrections ("actually/I mean…")
  • Domain‑aware prompting (finance/engineering/legal…)
Windows 10/11 today; macOS & Linux coming soon. Microphone required.

Why DictaFlow

Built for speed, accuracy, and environments where other dictation tools fail.

Hold‑to‑talk hotkey

Release to insert text instantly. Choose keyboard, mouse side‑button, or a custom Remote Desktop shortcut.

Think Out Loud

Change your mind mid-sentence or give direct commands. Say "actually make it 60" to fix a slip, or "Format as a list" to restructure your thoughts instantly.

Works everywhere (incl. Remote Desktop)

When clipboards are blocked, DictaFlow types characters with a tunable delay so it works in tough environments.

AI Command Mode

Dictate text or delegate tasks. Say "Draft a professional email to my landlord" or "Write a Python script to parse this CSV" and watch it happen.

Noise‑smart

Skips silence/low‑signal to avoid junk output. Less cleanup, more flow.

Edit Any Selection (Pro)

Highlight text in any app—Word, Slack, or VS Code—and speak a command like "Make this more professional" or "Translate to Spanish" to refine it instantly.

Why it’s different

Lightweight by design

No heavy background processes. Captures audio only while you hold the trigger—no always‑on mic.

Privacy‑respecting

Records only while you hold the trigger. No background uploads when idle.

Context‑aware brain

Understands your app to produce the right format—code in editors, emails in inboxes, clean corrections.

Built for flow

Hold → speak → release. No fiddly pop‑ups. Keyboard or mouse triggers. Works in any app.

How it works

Step 1

Hold your trigger

Ctrl+Windows by default, or set a mouse side button / VDI shortcut.

Step 2

Speak naturally

DictaFlow captures speech at 16 kHz mono for speed and accuracy.

Step 3

Release to insert

It pastes on host; it types into Remote Desktop. Your text lands right at the cursor.

FAQ

Does DictaFlow work in Citrix/VMware/Remote Desktop?

Yes. Use a mouse side‑button or a custom shortcut; DictaFlow types characters (with an adjustable delay) instead of pasting, so it works where clipboards are restricted.

Can I change the hotkey?

Yes. Set your preferred key combo or mouse button; Remote Desktop users can bind to rarely‑used keys (e.g., F13).

Which apps does DictaFlow support?

Any app with a text cursor — IDEs (VS Code, JetBrains), browsers, Outlook, Slack, terminals, notes, etc.

What about privacy and security?

We don’t store your audio or transcripts on our servers; they stay on your device. Audio is sent securely for transcription.

Is DictaFlow always listening?

No. DictaFlow records only while you hold your trigger. When you release, recording stops—there’s no always‑on microphone.

How many words come with Pro?

Pro includes 100,000 words per month. Need more? Reach out and we’ll sort out higher-volume or team plans.
